Occupational Medicine at Alliance:

An Outstanding Career Opportunity

We are currently looking for several physicians experienced in treating work-related injuries to expand our medical team and help us expand our capacity to provide the highest caliber occupational medicine to Silicon Valley’s largest employers. Board certification in Occupational Medicine is preferred, but not absolutely required for the “right” applicant.  Many physicians boarded in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine have learned to successfully practice occupational medicine--without completing a formal residency training. We have an excellent in-house training regimen that can assist the motivated clinician to move into this interesting and challenging medical specialty.

Applicants should have a basic understanding of how to successfully diagnose and treat repetitive motion injuries and acute musculoskeletal injuries.  Applicants should believe in the value of helping patients remain as functional as possible at home and work throughout the recovery period. Disability management is a critical skill, which we will assist you in developing or fine-tuning.  The ability The ability (or willingness to learn) how to suture simple lacerations and treat minor eye injuries is essential. The ability (or willingness to learn) how to perform basic corticosteroid injections is invaluable.

Our goal is to treat every patient in a respectful fashion.  We treat in a clear and assertive fashion to expedite recovery and to assist each patient in restoring functional capacity as quickly and efficiently as possible. The physician’s capacity to instill clinical confidence in the injured worker, their employer, and other stakeholders in Workers’ Compensation system is immensely important and imminently achievable.  Communication skills, and the willingness to use them consistently, are critical. Attention to detail and effective documentation are essential, especially as regards assessing causation of the injury, and in outlining an effective treatment plan. Willingness and capacity to apply evidence-based treatment standards to the practice of occupational medicine is a fundamental principle. More information about Occupational medicine at Alliance:
