CDC Urges Swine Flu Vaccinations

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday, January 7, urged Americans of all ages to get vaccinated against the swine flu, saying it wanted to prevent a possible resurgence of the disease in the coming weeks and months.

Regarding Recent H1N1 (Swine Flu) Cases

UPDATED July 6, 2009—In April, a novel type A influenza virus, H1N1 (swine flu) emerged as a significant disease in Mexico. Laboratory‐confirmed cases have now been found in more than 70 countries. There have been 170 deaths related to this infection in the U.S., with 21 reported in California.
